Was going back, from those packed hours,
When her tears caught his eye,
In the crowded street, on her mom's back,
Where that crying face lie.

A few funny faces, and an odd eyebrow raise,
Was all that it took,
A smile on top of that, changed that toddler's face,
Back into a happy look.

Those giggles and those smiles
And the thank you in her mom's eyes,
Absolutely made his day,
And he set ahead marching
Heard the birds perching,
And smiling back on his way!

As he hopped forward, he saw an old friend,
With wires stuffed in his ears,
Probably some sad old songs, loads of pain,
He was one of the engineers.

"Hey there, how have you been mate",
Asked the glowing face,
"Just living the life, talking to you,
It's all almighty's grace!"

The tired voice and the pain in his eyes,
Did not make a mark,
Words of encouragement and a big broad smile,
Arose him from the dark!

He hugged him back and cheered his voice,
Wiped off the damp cheeks,
"Not what you said, I had forgot to do it,
Didn't had a smile in weeks."

Hit the roads he shuffled his playlist,
Good beats started the vibe,
An old man sat across the street, he said,
"Uncle, go ahead, describe."

Monetary issues, bad health and a kidney stone,
Made the air a bit tense,
But he let out the elderly cry out his pain,
Until it started making no sense.

"Everything will be fine", and a big old smile,
And the man's face was brightened,
A pat on his head, and a grinning thanks,
The engineer felt enlightened!

Oh this is not another poem, not another ballad,
Telling you to stay positive,
Just find some time and fit in that smile,
Become a bit expressive!

In a world full of hatred,
A globe filled with pain,
A smiling face would take you miles,
However bad the day was,
Don't forget the deeds 'cause
Smile, and the world smiles!

Now, I know this might not be my most polished or profound poem, and I'm definitely no master poet. But sometimes, it's not about perfection - it's about sharing the idea. So here was something I wrote way back, hoping it might bring a smile or a moment of reflection, even if it’s not flawless. And don't forget to smile, because you smile, and the world smiles!
